Hey, hey, hey, travel lovers! Have you ever taken a cruise without your kids? It’s a truly unique experience that Clint and I had the pleasure of enjoying in February 2019. At that time, the two of us were at a crossroads in our lives. We had been trying for another baby without much success, and we didn’t know if we should try more aggressive fertility options, adopt, or accept that our family was complete with our two amazing boys. Taking some time away, just the two of us, was exactly what we needed, and we were able to reconnect in a whole new way.
After that incredible trip, we started the process of becoming foster parents, with the possibility of adoption. I even signed the paperwork and scheduled a surgery date for a hysterectomy. But as they say, life is what happens while you’re busy making plans! In March 2020, we welcomed a baby boy, to our family – surprise! My hysterectomy had to be postponed, of course, but that was the least of our worries. The whole world went on lockdown, and our little guy ended up in the NICU due to some minor issues with low blood sugar, apnea, and elevated bilirubin. It was tough on all of us, especially since his siblings couldn’t come see him, but it was the beginning of a grand adventure for all of us.
Roman obviously wanted time to perfect his sun tanning and relaxing abilities before joining us at home.
As you can see he was quite unhappy we brought him home instead of taking him on a cruise to finish his tan!
